Introduction of Xi'an

Xi’an, called “Chang’ an” in ancient times, is renowned as one of the four ancient capitals in the world, as having originated Chinese civilization, as having started the Silk Road, and as having been the capital city of the most Chinese dynasties for the longest time. It is one of the best tourist resorts of the world and is titled the “Natural andHistoricMuseum”. The city is one of the first “Cities of History” in the world honored by UNESCO.

Today’sXi’anis the key traffic hub connecting southwest, central, east and northChina. The West Development Strategy has brought about changes to the city. An industrial base has been set up, prominently featuring mechanical equipment, traffic and transportation, electronic communications, aeronautic and astronautic, biological medicine, food and drinks and petrochemical industries. The city is the manufacturing base of large aircraft. FollowingBeijingandShanghai,Xi’antakes third place in terms of scientific and technological strengths.

Xi’anenjoys a pleasing environment. TheWeiRiver, the largest tributary of theYellow River, flows on the north of the city. On the south of the city sit theQinlingMountains, the national park, with natural sceneries and a forest coverage rate of 42%. The city wins laurels as theNationalHygienicCity, the National Garden City, theNationalOutstandingTouristCity, and theNationalHappiestCity.Xi’annow is an attraction for residence, recreation and investment.
