Prof. Michael Levitt, the Noble Laureate of chemistry in 2013, came to visit Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) on October 25th and was officially appointed as the honorary professor of the university. President Wang Jinsong and vice President Zhang Weihong met with him at the international conference center.
On behalf of NPU, President Wang Jinsong expressed his warmly welcome to Michael Levitt. He hopes that Professor Levitt and his research group could carry out extensive and in-depth cooperation with NPU for the purpose of helping our young scholars and students improve themselves, to boost the exchange and cooperation between NPU and the world-class universities or research institutions, to help NPU promote its international influence.
Michael Levitt said he was honored to be a member of NPU and he came to China many times, but this is the first time to visit Xi'an. He loves Chinese culture. In addition, he introduced the development model of Stanford University which is worth learning by NPU.
After the ceremony, she made an academic presentation named “BIRTH&FUTURE OF MULTISCALE MODELING OF MACROMOLECULES” to young scholars and students of NPU.
