The 11th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW) was inaugurated on July 26 in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. Prof. Wan Xiaopeng, Vice President of NPU, Prof. Yang Yixin, Assistant President of NPU, and colleagues from relevant administrative departments attended the activities in CAECW.
Prof. Wan Xiaopeng attended the 2nd Annual Conference for Alliance of China-ASEAN Universities of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education-University President Forum for Cultivating Globalized Innovative and Entrepreneurial Talents, which aimed to share courses on innovation and entrepreneurship education, and jointly cultivate young talents with international outlook and competence. In the forum, Prof. Wan Xiaopeng shared his idea on the modes and approaches of innovation and entrepreneurship education with over 150 educational experts from 14 countries. During the forum, delegates also exchanged opinions on optimizing the talent cultivation system and explored cooperation on cultivating innovative talents.
Prof. Yang Yixin attended Alibaba Global eCommerce Talents Network Conference and delivered a keynote speech. He said, the cooperation between NPU and Alibaba on cultivating global ecommerce talents was a proactive exploration towards enhancing cooperation with multinationals by fully exerting NPU’s discipline advantages. NPU would adhere to the “ALL-IN” strategy and coordinate academic resources to improve quality and efficiency of intentional students education. In the conference, NPU and Alibaba signed The Articles of Association of Global eCommerce Talents Network. The Network aimed to popularize awareness on cross-border eCommerce and spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship, improve young people and small and medium-sized business’ competence in the global trade market, and promote the development of trading system with universal benefit. Founding members of the Network include Northwestern Polytechnical University, University of International Business and Economics, Harbin Institute of Technology, University of The Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Universiti Teknologi MARA, etc.
During the week, Prof. Wan Xiaopeng, Prof. Yang Yixin, and colleagues from relevant departments visited aero-engine enterprises and research institutes in Guiyang to understand their employment demands, collected suggestions on talent cultivation from alumni, and exploration further cooperation between NPU and enterprises and research institutes.
