On November 22nd, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (known as IEEE) released its Newly Elevated Fellows in 2019. Prof Shaoying Liu, the Visiting Professor of School of Software and Microelectronics, Northwestern Polytechnical University was successfully elected as IEEE Fellow for his “contributions to the design of Structured Object-Oriented Formal Language”.
Prof Liu is teaching “Formal Engineering Methods for Software Quality Assurance” in NPU
As far as we know, IEEE Fellow is the highest level of membership, and cannot be applied for directly by the member – instead the candidate must be nominated by others. This grade of membership is conferred by the IEEE Board of Directors in recognition of a high level of demonstrated extraordinary accomplishment.
