This winter was cold and what made it even colder that was on the first day of the lunar new year, Chinese people declared an all-out war on the sudden outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic. It is a war without smoke. It is a war makes everybody cold.
This spring is warm, because we see dawn is breaking and light is coming through. We Chinese across the country stand firmly to fight against the war. When we see scientists and researchers are working day and night, medical workers are saving and protecting lives despite the risk of infection and exhaustion from overwork and Chinese people around the globe to donate needed supplies, we feel warm inside.
Recently the epidemic is affecting people from all walks of life in China. At Northwestern Polytechnical University, the school day has not come yet. However, in Honors College, the students and staffs have done a lot to prepare for the spring semester and support the war. You can find them as volunteers, writers or painters. They are making tremendous effort to show whoever or wherever you are, you can find your own way to response.

Besides, HC is not fighting alone. The international friends have given HC spiritual support. Their words are valuable and touching, which shows the strong destination to jointly win the battle. There is a Chinese old saying: fear not the want of armor, for mine is also yours to wear. Winter will eventually pass, and spring is sure to come. And truly, it comes!
