On September 30, QMES held a symposium on the work of counsellors for the new semester at Chang’an Campus. Dai Fuping, Secretary of the Party Committee of QMES, Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of QMES, all cadres of the Student Affairs DepartmentofQMESandthestaff of the Student International Development Center attended the symposium.
The Student Affairs Office and the full-time and part-time counsellors of each grade exchanged their views on the situation of students and the special work of each grade based on the recent work condition. Cheng Yin made a detailed report on the key of student work in the new semester and made arrangements for related work such as the stability and safety of students, epidemic prevention and control, the construction of class atmosphere and learning style, assistance of students in difficulty, and the work of students’ graduation and employment.
Dai Fuping put forward requirements and suggestions for student work and special work of all grades. He pointed out that it was necessary to cultivate and explore the capacity of part-time counsellors and to mobilize their work enthusiasm. He stressed that it was important to further strengthen the ideological and political work of student party construction, standardize the development process of student party members, pay close attention to students with psychological difficulties, and timely master students ideological state. While doing a good job in grade work, strengthen mutual cooperation and better carry out all kinds of special work.He emphasized that it was necessary to focus on the talents training model aiming at improving students’ political discernment, learning ability, innovation and creativity capability and global competence and organize various campus cultural activities, and comprehensively improve the quality of students.
Finally, Dai Fuping led all participants to learn the spirit of President Wang Jinsong’s speech at the 2022 New Counselor Symposium, hoping that everyone would take a dialectical view of the relationship between being a counsellor and future academic development. He also hoped that they could use this valuable work experience to promote future teaching and scientific research work, establish political awareness, do a good job of counsellors with a high sense of responsibility, mission, wholehearted dedication and enthusiasm, and strengthen their personnel cultivation feelings.
After the symposium, QMES will actively respond to the relevant arrangements of the higher departments and NPUto promote the reform of the counsellor team, further improve the system and mechanism for the construction of the counsellor team, continue to carry out discussions and implement the reform measures.
