On January 23, 2026, the 14-day “Experience Xi’an, Savor China” International Winter Camp successfully concluded at the Youyi Campus of Northwestern Polytechnical University(NPU). All participants, along with Li Ziwei, Associate Dean of the International College, and faculty representatives from relevant offices of the International College, attended the closing ceremony, marking a perfect end to this cultural and technological journey.
At the closing ceremony, Associate Dean Li Ziwei delivered a concluding speech, congratulating all participants on the successful completion of the program. He expressed his hope that this experience would serve as a significant starting point for everyone to understand China and get to know Xi’an, encouraging them to continue acting as bridges of youth in promoting mutual learning between Chinese and foreign cultures and fostering lasting friendship in the future.

Following this, ANTHONY YITAO CAI XU, a student from Peru, spoke as a representative of the camp participants, sharing his reflections and takeaways. He expressed that every aspect of the program—from Chinese language classes and calligraphy workshops to visits to the Terracotta Army and the Tang Dynasty Ever-Bright City—had enriched his understanding of Chinese culture in vivid and meaningful ways. He particularly highlighted the visit to NPU's Aircraft Museum, which provided him with a new perspective on China's profound heritage in aerospace, the integration of "hard technology”, and traditional cultural elements. On behalf of all participants, he extended heartfelt gratitude to the university for its thoughtful arrangements and pledged to carry this experience back to his home country, serving as a young ambassador for sharing Chinese culture.

This winter camp was structured around four core modules—Chinese language courses, intangible cultural heritage experiences, technology visits, and cultural explorations—crafting an immersive and in-depth experience for all participants. Camp members not only touched the warmth of traditional culture through activities such as calligraphy and guzheng classes, but also felt the technological strength in the fields of aviation, aerospace, and navigation at NPU's history museum and aircraft museum. Moreover, they experienced the millennia-old cultural heritage and contemporary vitality of the ancient capital Xi'an at iconic sites like the Terracotta Warriors and the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda.

At the conclusion of the closing ceremony, Associate Dean Li Ziwei and faculty representatives presented completion certificates to all camp participants and joined them for a group photo. Amid laughter, joy, and heartfelt farewells, the winter camp officially drew to a close. The program not only built a bridge for cultural exchange between Chinese and international youth but also, through its immersive experiences, enabled international students to better understand China and develop a fondness for Xi'an. It has contributed positively to promoting mutual learning among civilizations and fostering friendly exchanges among young people worldwide.
