NPU Expert Invited to Attend New Year Symposium

On the afternoon of February 13th, 2026, as China’s Lunar New Year is approaching , Premier Li Qiang of the State Councilhad a cordial meeting with the 2025 Chinese Government Friendship Award winners and the representatives of foreign experts who work in China at the Great Hall of the People. Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang of the State Council attended the event. Professor Henry Curran, recipient of the Chinese Government Friendship Award and a foreign expert at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), was invited to participate.

Professor Henry Curran is an Honorary Professor at NPU and a Member of the Royal Irish Academy. He has carried out fruitful collaborations with NPU in areas of education, teaching, and basic research, and was awarded the 2025 Chinese Government Friendship Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions.
