This winter break, 40 student delegations and 1,118 undergraduates from Northwestern Polytechnical University took part in overseas study and practice programs, visiting 35 world-renowned universities—including University of Oxford, University of Sydney, and Technical University of Munich—as well as five international organizations such as UNESCO. The programs featured diverse formats and content, combining coursework, seminars, and hands-on learning.

Immersed in a global academic environment, students tracked cutting-edge research, joined seminars in fields including artificial intelligence, and engaged with cross-cultural approaches to research and collaboration. Through simulations and discussions on global governance, they broadened their horizons and strengthened their global competence.

NPU places strong emphasis on expanding students’ international outlook and is committed to cultivating top-tier, innovation-driven talent with a global mindset and a strong sense of responsibility—so-called “Chief Engineer–type” leaders.
The “Soaring Across the Globe” program is a core component of the university’s “Three Ones” practice-oriented training framework. It ensures every undergraduate has at least one opportunity to participate in a short-term overseas exchange during their studies. By organizing cohort-based, high-quality international programs, the initiative provides systematic support for the cultivation of “Chief Engineer–type” talent.
Looking ahead, NPU will continue to strengthen the “Soaring Across the Seas” brand, deepen partnerships with leading universities, and expand collaboration with major international organizations—creating more opportunities for NPU students to pursue their ambitions and build capacity on the global stage.
Forty delegations, footprints across the world.
More than a thousand students—every step shines.
Answering the world with action, responding to the call of the times with youth.
NPU students—moving forward, without pause.
