Early cherry

Early cherry blossoms quietly burst into bloom.
Pale pink-white petals adorn every bough,
Layer upon layer, like clouds or a rosy glow.
Free from any artifice, only pure and natural charm.
Time that hurries by on its restless way,
Is gently kneaded into soft spring’s warm sway.
This shade of light pink, tender and clear,
Is a love letter sent at Qinling’s foot here.

Purple-leaf plums

Purple-leaf plums amid campus shade,
Bloom softly in a pale white cascade.
Clustered mid branches of purple-brown hue,
A quiet elegance shines through.
With figures hurrying between classes’ call,
And laughter drifting beneath them all,
They grace NPU’s spring view each day,
Adorning the campus in their own gentle way.

Magnolia

Magnolia, messenger of early spring,
Unawares they crown each bough and sing.
Beneath warm sun that softly streams and glows,
Each petal glints where golden sunlight flows.
White blooms shine pure, clear, and bright,
Purple ones glow with softer light.
A sight unmatched in spring’s fair grace,
A portrait gentle, warm, and full of charm.

Plum blossoms

NPU, where plum blossoms stand,
Forerunners of spring across the land.
In the sharp chill of early breeze,
They bloom in full, graceful, and easy.
Beside the large aircraft and along the shores of the Qizhen Lake,
their branches stand vigorous and resilient.
Their subtle fragrance is the prelude to spring,
and the perseverance and passion rooted deep within.
Blossoming through wind and frost severe,
In our stride forward, it lingers, ever clear.

Weeping willows

Bright blooms need green willows to frame their grace,
By Qizhen and Qixiang Lakes they gently lace.
Dressed in jade-green,
Their myriad hanging branches cascade gracefully.
Thousands of slender threads hang down like silk,
That sway and dance as the soft wind is spilled.

Other flowers bloom in quiet delight,
Beneath the trees, crabapples shine bright.
Forsythia climbs the branches high,
Redbud blooms adorn each bough nearby.
Rosebuds wait to unfold their grace,
Even tiny plum blossoms fall like stars into silver stream.

Almost forgot the sweet souls on campus ground,
When morning light follows the soft rain’s last sound.
They weave a tender scene, gentle and fair,
Breathing the warmth that fills the spring air.
Beneath the dorms, on steps where sunlight strays,
A cat dozes peacefully in soft haze.
On Qixiang Lake, swans glide with graceful ease,
Their quiet elegance dancing on the breeze.
Bees hum sweetly where blossoms unfold,
Butterflies waltz through the green and gold.
Birds on high branches sing spring’s melodic lay,
All speaking of life in their own lively way.

All earthly plants with spirit reside,
All things on earth with souls abide.
On NPU’s campus, greens abound,
With architecture beauty crowned.
In harmony they blend and shine,
Each season paints a sight divine.
