On the afternoon of April 14, Syed Najib Ahmed, President of the Institute of Space Technology (IST) visited Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU). Kong Jie, Vice President of NPU, met with President Ahmed and his delegation.

Kong Jie extended a warm welcome to President Ahmad and his delegation, and introduced NPU’s recent progress in talent cultivation, scientific research, and international cooperation. He noted that IST and NPU share similar disciplinary strengths, offering broad prospects for collaboration. He expressed hope that the two universities will further expand cooperation areas, elevate the level of collaboration, and contribute to the China–Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
President Ahmad expressed his gratitude for the warm reception at NPU. He noted that IST is a university with distinctive strengths in aerospace and strong innovation capacity, currently ranked fifth among engineering universities in Pakistan. He remarked that NPU, as a world-class engineering university with high international visibility, is an important partner of IST, with several NPU alumni holding key positions at the IST. He expressed the expectation that both sides would further deepen cooperation in high-level talent cultivation and broaden the scope of joint scientific research.
Li Ziwei, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office and Associate Dean of the International College; Wan Fangyi, Associate Dean of the School of Aeronautics; and Li Yang, Assistant Dean of the School of Astronautics, among others were present at the meeting.
