"Following the Camels' Bells, Young Voices Unite": NPU International Students Invited to 2026 International Chinese Language Day and Silk Road Youth Exchange Event

2026-05-04 20:05

On April 20, the 2026 International Chinese Language Day and Silk Road Youth Exchange Event, hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and organized by Xi'an International Studies University, took place in Xi'an. A delegation of international student representatives from our university was invited to attend, engaging in discussions on Chinese language learning and cultural appreciation alongside experts, teachers, and young Chinese and international students from over 30 universities across the country.

At the third sub-venue session, the "Silk Road Youth Roundtable on Chinese Learning and Cultural Experience,"our Russian student Dingzi delivered a brilliant presentation titled "Cultural Perception and Emotional Connection." Drawing on his personal study experience in Shaanxi, he shared his transformative journey from "learning about China" to "experiencing China." He also spoke about the valuable opportunities for youth exchange between the two countries brought by the 2026-2027 China-Russia Year of Education, earning wide acclaim from the teachers and students present.

At noon, the international student representatives from our university took part in the "Beauty in Diversity, Art in Chang'an" Chinese and International Cultural & Arts Festival and International Food Festival. Meili, a student from French Polynesia, performed a Tahitian dance, bringing the breezy passion of the ocean to the springtime of Chang'an.

The participation in this event showcased the solid Chinese language proficiency and positive spirit of our international students, and further promoted exchanges and cooperation in the field of international Chinese language education at our university. NPU will continue to support Silk Road youth in becoming practitioners of mutual learning among civilizations.
