On May 8, Mr. Sheng Jianxue, Secretary-General of the China Scholarship Council (CSC), led a delegation to Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) for a research visit. NPU President Song Baowei met with the delegation, joined by Vice President Kong Jie.

President Song Baowei, on behalf of NPU, welcomed the delegation and introduced NPU's distinctive educational features, research strengths, and achievements in international development. He noted that with the strong guidance and support of the CSC, NPU has made significant progress in faculty and student overseas exchanges, international student education, and the cultivation of globally competent talents, which have greatly supported NPU's "Double First-Class" construction. He expressed the hope that the CSC would continue to support NPU in further enhancing its international exchanges and cooperation.
Secretary-General Sheng Jianxue expressed his gratitude for the NPU's hospitality and provided an overview of the CSC's recent initiatives. He acknowledged NPU's distinct national defense characteristics and outstanding research capabilities, as well as its solid foundation in cultivating internationally oriented talent. He reaffirmed the CSC's continued support in areas such as government-sponsored overseas study and international student programs in China, contributing to joint training of top-tier innovative talents and international research collaboration.
Following the meeting, the delegation conducted field research on NPU’s implementation of the national government-sponsored study abroad program.
Representatives from both the CSC Council and relevant departments of NPU participated in the event.
