On June 11, a delegation led by Tariq Alghaffari, Deputy Governor of the Saudi Water Authority(SWA), visited Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU). Vice President Kong Jie met with Deputy Governor Alghaffari and his delegation.

On behalf of NPU, Vice President Kong Jie extended a warm welcome to Deputy Governor Alghaffari and his delegation. He reviewed the progress of joint talent cultivation between NPU and SWA in the field of engineering, and noted that NPU, with its comprehensive disciplinary system, possesses solid research expertise and strong supporting capabilities in engineering and technology. He expressed the expectation that both sides would continue to deepen and expand their cooperation on the existing foundation, jointly achieving new and substantial progress in bilateral collaboration.
Deputy Governor Alghaffari expressed his sincere gratitude to NPU for its warm hospitality. He noted that this visit had given him a first-hand impression of NPU's research depth and innovative strength in the field of engineering. He briefed that SWA is currently making vigorous efforts to advance the intelligent and engineering-oriented transformation of water resource management, and that the two sides share a high degree of alignment in terms of technological needs and research directions. He expressed the expectation to further deepen cooperation in technological development and talent cultivation on the existing foundation.

Relevant leaders from the School of Marine Science and Technology, the Ningbo Institute Of NPU, and the Office of International Cooperation attended the meeting.
