On June 30, 2026, Xi’an East Railway Station, a major comprehensive transportation hub in northwest China, was officially put into operation. At the invitation of Xi’an Railway Bureau, five international student representatives from Northwestern Polytechnical University(NPU)attended the opening event and traveled by high-speed rail to Hubei Province, gaining first-hand experience of China’s world-class transportation infrastructure and high-speed rail network.

As an important multimodal regional transportation hub, Xi’an East Railway Station integrates the cultural heritage of the ancient capital with contemporary architectural design. Bringing together high-speed rail, conventional rail, metro, and bus services within a single interconnected system, the station is equipped with advanced smart technologies and environmentally sustainable facilities. During the visit, the international students toured the departure hall and experienced the intelligent passenger service system. The station’s innovative design and efficient operation, and convenient passenger services received enthusiastic praise from the students.
Following the visit, the students boarded a high-speed train and departed for Hubei. Traveling smoothly at high speed through the landscapes of the Qinling Mountains, they experienced both comfort and efficiency throughout the journey. Many students remarked that the trip offered an immediate and vivid understanding of China’s rapid transportation development and further deepened their appreciation of China’s modernization and development.

The visit further promoted intercultural exchange and mutual understanding. As cultural ambassadors, the participating students will share their experiences and observations with friends and communities in their home countries, contributing to greater mutual understanding and stronger people-to-people ties between China and the world.
