From August 20 to 23, on-site registration for newly admitted international students of 2026 cohort proceeded smoothly at Student Apartment Building No. 27 on the Youyi Campus. Traveling to Xi’an from around the world, members of NPU’s 2026 international student cohort began a new chapter of study at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU).
The registration site was well organized, with clear procedures and efficient operations. Service counters for information verification, document submission, student ID issuance, dormitory check-in, medical examination inquiries and visa services worked seamlessly. The International College provided one-stop guidance on administrative procedures, making the registration process as convenient as possible for new students. Faculty members and international student volunteers worked in close coordination, welcoming every newcomer with enthusiasm, patience and attentive service. They helped students complete the required enrollment procedures quickly and eased the uncertainty that can accompany arriving in an unfamiliar country.
To ensure a smooth registration process, the International College made extensive preparations before students arrived. It organized “Hello, China,” an online orientation camp that provided incoming students with a systematic introduction to registration and arrival arrangements. The College also updated the 2026 Registration Guide for New International Students and 50 Frequently Asked Questions for New Students, addressing key concerns such as enrollment procedures, campus life and academic resources. In addition, the International Student Residence Agreement, Student Safety Commitment and related documents were comprehensively revised. Safety provisions were further clarified, while guidance for common situations such as checking out of university accommodation and requesting repairs was improved. These revisions were designed to better protect students’ lawful rights and interests while making management and services more standardized and transparent. With every stage carefully coordinated, this year’s on-site registration provided new students with a welcoming, professional, and efficient start to their studies at NPU.
During the orientation period, Vice President of NPU Kong Jie visited the registration site to review the arrangements and receive an update on registration progress. He spoke warmly with newly arrived international students and their accompanying parents and, on behalf of the university, extended a warm welcome to the new cohort.
Kong encouraged the students to adapt quickly to academic and campus life. He expressed the hope that they would gain both knowledge and friendship at NPU and grow into young professionals equipped with strong disciplinary expertise and a global outlook.
As the on-site registration period drew to a close, the new international students successfully completed enrollment and officially joined the NPU community. The International College will next organize a diverse series of orientation activities covering Chinese laws and regulations, personal safety, course selection, cultural exchange and campus tours. These activities will help students familiarize themselves with the campus and adapt quickly to studying and living in China.
