Students from Northwestern Polytechnical University, headquartered in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, have clinched the top award in the Sixth China International "Internet plus" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, Shaanxi Division.
The provincial division of the three-month-long competition started in June, hosted by the Education Department of Shaanxi Province, run by Shaanxi University of Science and Technology and Yan'an University, and co-organized by the Shaanxi Branch of China Construction Bank. It attracted 183,000 students in 40,800 teams from 106 universities and colleges all over the province.
The "New VTOL high-speed UAV project" team from Northwestern Polytechnical University won the grand championship, and the students of the university's other teams also got eight gold medals and two team awards for the innovation projects they entered into the competition, which closed on Sept 13.
