On Nov. 10, 2020, the Excellent University Teachers Award of Computer Science of 2019 was announced and two teachers from NPU were included in the list. One of them was Prof. Ma Chunyan from School of Software.
The Excellent University Teachers Award of Computer Science was launched by Prof. John Edward Hopcroft, Turing Award Winner and Foreign Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Prof. Gao Wen, director of China Computer Federation and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering first in year 2018. In the first year, 26 teachers from 9 universities were selected from 106 teachers. For year of 2019, 55 teachers were selected, among which 2 were from NPU. This is the first time that teachers from NPU won the award. The award is based on the five aspects including Teaching, Teacher-Students Interaction, Student Focuses, Student Participation and Overall Review.
Biography of Prof. Ma Chunyan:
Ma Chunyan, received her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, China, 2009. She joined School of Software and Microelectronics (now School of Software) in 2010 as a lecturer. Since May 2014, she was working as an associate professor. In April 2020, she was elected as the vice dean of School of Software. Her main research interests are software modeling and analyzing, software testing and debugging, big data analytic and data visualization, etc. The courses she taught included Object-oriented programming and design, Principle of Compiler, etc.
