From August 12 to 15, the national finals of the 16th China Postgraduate Electronics Design Competition of “Zhaoyi Innovation Cup” were held online. NPU won 4 first prizes, 6 second prizes and 5 third prizes of the national awards, ranking sixth among all universities, broke into the top 10 for the first time and achieved the best result in the school history.

Since April, many training and organization works were carefully planned and implemented by the Graduate School and the School of Electronics and Information for this competition. Besides, five centralized school rehearsals were carried out successively, and 46 teams stood out from the 11th “Aoxiang Cup”& Northwest Division Campus Selection Competition, which were successfully promoted to the Northwest Division Trials. Moreover, 24 teams in NPU won the first prize in the Northwest Division, of which 12 technical and 3 commercial teams were successfully promoted to the National Finals. The number of technical teams reaching the finals doubled, while the commercial teams broke zero records. In addition, many award-winning works of NPU also won the most investment value award.

In the National Finals, 427 teams from 150 universities including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Southeast University, Wuhan University, Beihang University, Xi’an Jiaotong University and Northwestern Polytechnical University participated in the competition.


China Graduate Electronics Design Competition is one of the theme events of “China Graduate Innovation Practice Series Competition”, which is co-sponsored by the Academic Degree & Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education, the National Graduate Education Steering Committee for Professional Engineering Degree and the Chinese Institute of Electronics. This competition covers 8 national competition areas. 5120 teams from 254 universities and scientific research institutes, including all “double first-class” universities and nearly 150000 graduate students participated in the competition.
The competition aims to promote the reform and innovation of information and electronics postgraduate training mode in universities and scientific research institutes, cultivate postgraduates’ practical innovation consciousness, teamwork spirit and innovation ability, as well as create opportunities for outstanding talents to stand out.
