During summer vacation in 2021, the School of Software successfully completed the summer courses from July 4 to August 28.
Since the School of Software received the "Notice of The Fourth International Summer Courses 2021", the school has actively mobilized teachers to invite overseas partners to teach online courses, and invited 8 foreign experts to offer English courses in total. Due to the impact of COVID-19, The Fourth International Summer Courses can only be taken online, and after discussion with foreign experts, because of the jet lag and online facilities, 7 English courses will be conducted online, and these courses are all in the field of cutting-edge directions, following the current hot topics and trends, including computer science, software engineering and other information disciplines.
In order to ensure the smooth running of the online courses, our school has designated one Chinese teacher assistant, one student assistant and one supervising teacher for each course with similar professional direction to assist foreign teachers to carry out the work related to the courses, among which the teacher assistant mainly ensures the course assessment and the collection of the archived materials, the student assistant mainly assists in the pre-testing of the online connection, student sign-in, and supervising teachers are all associate professors or above with profound teaching qualifications and rich teaching experience, who can give feedback to the foreign teachers according to the real situation in the process of teaching, so as to ensure the online teaching quality.
With careful preparation by the teachers and assistants, the seven English courses were conducted as scheduled. Students have reflected that "experiencing the class of the teachers from the world-first-class university without leaving home" not only gains professional knowledge, but also improves the ability to conduct literature and academic writing in English; at the same time, the course also promotes communication between foreign professors and students, providing students with a platform of international vision and understanding of the frontier knowledge of science and technology, and contributes to the enhancement of foreign language ability, cultivation of innovation and potential.
