The Engineering School of QMUL, NPU and GCL Group Signed an Agreement on Talent Training for College-Enterprise Cooperation

On July 5, 2021, the signing ceremony of the 2018 undergraduate internship and college-enterprise cooperation of the Engineering School of Queen Mary University of London (hereinafter referred to as “QMES”) of NPU was held in the lecture hall on the first floor of the R & D building of GCL (Group) Holding Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “GCL Group”). A total of 12 people attended this signing ceremony, including Liang Wenzhang, Assistant Vice President of GCL Group; Professor Fan Xiaoli, Vice Dean of Office of Teaching Affairs of QMES; and Li Mao, General Manager of Human Capital Center of GCL Group, which was presided over by Xu Chengzhong, Executive Vice President of GCL University.

At the meeting, Liang Wenzhang and Fan Xiaoli delivered speeches successively, introduced the basic situation of GCL Group and QMES respectively, and described their good vision and firm confidence of both sides for the project of college-enterprise cooperation in the future. Subsequently, Liang Wenzhang and Fan Xiaoli signed the agreement on talent training for college-enterprise cooperation as their respective representatives. Fan Xiaoli, on behalf of QMES, and Liang Wenzhang, on behalf of GCL Group, appointed each other as visiting professors and exchanged letters of appointment. Meanwhile, representatives of both sides jointly inaugurated the Social Practice Base for College Students. The undergraduates majoring in Materials Science and Engineering in grade 2018 from QMES witnessed this important moment together. According to the agreement, both sides will establish a long-term and close cooperative relationship based on the principle of “mutual benefit and win-win results, service for enterprises, unified management and school-enterprise interaction”, and continue to strengthen their in-depth cooperation in the cultivation of innovative talents and in the integration of industry, university and research.

The signing of the agreement for college-enterprise cooperation will become an important opportunity for both sides to expand exchanges, strengthen cooperation, seek mutual benefits, and achieve common development. In the future talent training, our school will fully consider the needs of enterprises, implement practical education, scientific research education and collaborative education, give full play to the advantages of both sides and realize resource sharing, give full play to the function of QMES in serving society, industry and enterprises, and cultivate more high-quality and more high-skilled applied talents for society and enterprises, so as to further enhance the stamina and vitality of the development of QMES.

It is reported that GCL Group is a technology-led private leading enterprise, which mainly focuses on new energy and clean energy, and develops in coordination with related industries such as the national integrated circuit semiconductor industry. It is also a leading new energy technology and service operator with comprehensive strength in the world. The main business of GCL Group covers the IC core materials, the application and manufacturing of new solar technology, and new materials for energy storage technology.
