A New Look in the New Semester - QMES Successfully Held the Ice-breaking Class Meeting for Freshmen of QM012104

On the afternoon of September 12, 2021, the freshmen of Material Class 4 in Grade 2021 of QMES held an ice-breaking class meeting in Classroom 406, which has been divided into 3 game sessions, opening a new chapter for the upcoming four-year study and life of students.

Ni Ke, a member of the Organization Committee of the Class, hosted this Class meeting. The first activity was the “who is undercover”. There were eight people in one round, including two undercover agents. At first, students kept a certain distance from each other and did not dare to speak easily in an unfamiliar environment. After two rounds of games, the strange feeling of meeting for the first time quickly disappeared, and everyone had fun and gathered together.

Next was the game session of Draw and Guess. All the students were divided into three groups. Firstly, each group needed to choose one person to draw something, then the rest of the students were required to guess what they drew. Although the pictures drawn by the students were rough, their teammates still could turn the abstract into concrete and analyze the correct answers together. The students gradually found a tacit understanding of each other and finally reached an agreement.

The last session was the tense and exciting “Truth or Dare”.As the activity went on, the students’ problems became more and more in-depth, and their laughter soon filled the whole classroom. After opening up to each other, everyone’s hearts were getting closer, which was also the first step towards unity.

The ice-breaking meeting has broken the strangeness and estrangement between new students, made them full of expectation and anticipation for the upcoming study and life, and further laid a solid foundation for class construction. It is believed that every first-year student of grade 2021 will find a better self and realize their dreams at QMES!
