Recently, the 12th “IEEE International Conference on Signal Processing, Communications and Computing (ICSPCC 2022)”, organized by IEEE Xi’an Branch, IEEE Hong Kong Branch and Northwestern Polytechnical University, and co-organized by Xi’an University of Science and Technology, Shaanxi Aviation Society, and Acoustical Society of Shaanxi Province was successfully held in Xi’an (online). More than 130 papers were enrolled in this conference. The conference lasted for two days in total, and keynote speeches, invited talks sessions, twenty regular sessions and one student’s best thesis competition session were organized. At this meeting, more than 200 experts and scholars from all over the world jointly discussed new theories, new technologies and wide applications in the fields of signal processing, communications and computing.
Four famous scholars in the profession delivered keynote speeches. They are Professor Xiang-Gen Xia from University of Delaware in the United States, with the report title “OFDM Radar and Communications: Comparison and SAR Imaging”; Professor Chen Badong from the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics of Xi’an Jiaotong University, with the report title “Recent Advances in Information Theoretic Learning”; Professor Sharon Gannot from Ramatkan, Israel, with the report title “Multi-Microphone Speaker Localization on Manifolds”; Professor Cédric Févotte from IRIT in Toulouse, France, with the report title “Robust nonnegative matrix factorization with the beta-divergence”.
The conference organized an invited talks session on “Underwater Communication and Signal Processing”, and invited four well-known scholars to give invited talks for the session. They are Professor Guan Quansheng from the South China University of Technology, with the report titled “Impact and Analysis of Spatial-Time Coupling on Slotted MAC in UANs”; Professor Yan Jing from Yanshan University, with the report titled “Co-Design of Localization and Tracking Control for Autonomous Underwater Vehicle via Reinforcement Learning Approach”; Professor Sun Zhi from Tsinghua University, with the report title “Towards Acoustic Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface for High-data-rate Long-range Underwater Communications”; Professor Liu Songzuo from Harbin Engineering University, with the report title “Design and Experiment of a Deep Sea Underwater Acoustic”.
IEEE ICSPCC has been successfully held 12 times since it was jointly founded by IEEE Xi’an Branch, IEEE Hong Kong Branch and Northwestern Polytechnical University in 2011. It has built a good international communication platform for signal processing, communication, artificial intelligence and other subjects, and has received extensive attention and participation from scholars at home and abroad. It has played an important role in improving the academic level in relevant fields, establishing a close international connection, strengthening academic exchanges with internationally famous scholars and promoting discipline construction.
