Recently, three graduate students from the School of Computer Science at Northwestern Polytechnical University, Wang Bingjie, Zhang Chenglin, and Yang Junkun, won runner-up in the 2022 OceanBase Database Competition.

The 2022 OceanBase Database Competition is a database core practical competition jointly organized by OceanBase and the academic cooperation team of Ant Technology Research Institute under the guidance of the Database Professional Committee of the China Computer Federation (CCF). The participants include college students, database practitioners of scientific research institutions, and research and development personnel of Internet enterprises. This year, there were 1180 teams at home and abroad, with a total of 1988 people participating in the competition.
The three award-winning students are all from the big data management and analysis team of the Key Laboratory of Big Data Storage and Management, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The three award-winning students joined the project team in early 2022 and under the guidance of their teachers, grew from a database kernel code novice to a research and development main force capable of independently completing kernel research and development tasks.
