On March 28, 2023, Elsevier released the 2022 “Highly Cited Chinese Researchers” list. Three teachers from the School of Mechanical Engineering were selected, including Academician Zhang Weihong and Professor Wan Min from the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology, and Professor Zhang Yingfeng from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
In 2022, there were a total of 5216 people on the “Highly Cited Chinese Researchers” list published by Elsevier, including 504 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, covering 84 first-level disciplines in 10 disciplines of the Ministry of Education. The basic data extraction of highly cited scholars this time used the further optimized and updated first-level discipline classification mapping of the Ministry of Education of Elsevier (covering 111 disciplines). This article-level mapping makes the data of Chinese scholars’ subject attribution, subject performance, and other aspects demonstrate the academic research ecology that is in line with China’s discipline settings more directly, improve and scientifically and accurately depict the scientific research output of Chinese scholars, providing effective assistance for further cleaning up, analyzing, and researching the citation performance of scholars. This also brings more scholars with outstanding performance in the field of segmentation from everyone’s perspective.
