On May 9, 2024, according to the latest discipline statistics released by the globally authoritative ESI (Essential Science Indicators) in the field of scientific evaluation, our university’s chemistry discipline entered the top 1‰ globally for the first time, and the social sciences discipline has entered the top 1% globally for the first time. This marks a breakthrough in our university's efforts to advance the construction of world-class universities and disciplines.
As of now, the total number of disciplines at our university entering the top 1‰ in ESI has increased to four: Materials Science, Engineering, Computer Science, and Chemistry. Among them, Materials Science and Engineering are approaching the top 1‱ globally, and Computer Science is approaching the top 5‱ globally.
The total number of disciplines at our university entering the top 1% in ESI has increased to twelve: Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Biology and Biochemistry, Mathematics, Environmental Science/Ecology, Clinical Medicine, Agricultural Sciences, and Social Sciences.
ESI is one of the most widely used evaluation tools worldwide for assessing the international academic level and influence of universities, academic institutions, countries, and regions. All statistical data are updated every two months.
