Recently, the German Degree Awarding Ceremony for the 2025 Graduates of the Master's Program in Industrial Design of the Joint Program between Northwestern Polytechnical University and the Brand University of Applied Sciences, and a Symposium for Teachers and Students were held at the International Conference Center of the Youyi Campus of Northwestern Polytechnical University. Yue Xiaokui, Vice President of Northwestern Polytechnical University, Yonka Limon-Calisan, Vice President of the Brand University of Applied Sciences, and other attendees participated in the event.
In his speech, Yue Xiaokui congratulated the 2025 graduates of the program. He hoped that they would stick to their original aspirations and bravely shoulder their missions on the future life path, give back to society with a grateful heart, and contribute their wisdom and strength to the development of the country.
Yonka Limon-Calisan extended sincere congratulations to the graduates. She emphasized that the Sino-German joint education program is a landmark achievement of the cooperation between the two universities and between China and Germany in the field of education. She also encouraged the graduates to scale new heights in the future and become bridges for cross-cultural communication.
Subsequently, Bian Chenchen, the representative of the graduates, emotionally recalled his study time and expressed gratitude for the cultivation of his alma mater and supervisors. Zhu Jihong, Executive Dean of the Graduate School, Kong Jie, Director of the International Cooperation Office, and Wang Sifan, Academic Director of International Cooperation of the Brand University of Applied Sciences, jointly presented honorary certificates to the outstanding graduates. The graduates presented hand-painted gifts to the two universities, depicting their study time at Northwestern Polytechnical University and the Brand University of Applied Sciences with the themes of spring, summer, autumn and winter. Yue Xiaokui and Yonka Limon-Calisan received the gifts.
During the degree awarding ceremony, Yonka Limon-Calisan issued degree certificates of the Brand University of Applied Sciences to 15 graduates, and Yue Xiaokui turned the tassels of the graduates one by one.
At the end of the ceremony, all teachers and students took a group photo to record this memorable moment.
At 10:30 a.m., the symposium for teachers and students of the program was held. German school leaders, Chinese supervisors and students had a full English exchange around topics such as curriculum design, scientific research cooperation, and career development. The students actively asked questions, and the supervisors answered them carefully. The atmosphere at the scene was warm, fully demonstrating the international characteristics of the program and the close connection between teachers and students. At the end of the symposium, the supervisors encouraged the students to make good use of the program resources, consolidate their professional foundation, and strive to grow into compound talents with international competitiveness.
This event not only marked a successful conclusion to the academic careers of the 2025 graduates of the program but also provided a platform for the current students to have direct conversations with the school authorities. It further optimized the talent cultivation mechanism and marked that the Sino-German joint education program has entered a new stage of high-quality development. Northwestern Polytechnical University will continue to deepen its cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences for Brand Communication, Germany, and rely on the disciplinary platform and the resources of universities and enterprises to cultivate more professional talents with global competitiveness.
