On December 2nd and 3rd, the finals of the 3rd “Rush Hour” International Business Simulation Competition for International Students in China were held at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. This event was organized by the Shanghai Education International Exchange Association and co-hosted by the International Cultural Exchange School of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and the Cesim Global Simulation Platform Committee.
The competition attracted 140 teams and 450 participants from 25 universities across China, representing 74 different nationalities. Among them, 33 teams from 22 universities advanced from the preliminary rounds to the finals. A team from the International Education College of Northwestern Polytechnical University, consisting of Malaysian students ENG JOO YEE and CHOO HUI XIN, Thai student PRANG THAOSUWAN, and Cambodian student THAY VIRAKBANDETH, won the National Second Prize. Their international student counselor, Wang Yanqi, received the Excellent Instructor award.
Simulated Practice Forges International Business Decision-Making Skills: A Sublimation from Theory to Practice
The two-day competition featured a compact and intensive schedule. On December 2nd, all teams engaged in several rounds of intense simulated business competition on the Cesim platform. During the simulation, team members needed to collaborate closely, comprehensively applying knowledge in marketing, financial management, production, and operations to make a series of coherent strategic decisions. This immersive experience greatly tested the participants' business acumen, risk tolerance, and teamwork spirit.
Our college's team performed exceptionally well in this competition. During the preliminary rounds, the team advanced strongly to the finals with an outstanding second-place market ranking, thanks to excellent strategic decision-making. In the finals, focusing on the theme "Innovation Opportunities and Challenges in the Future Beverage Industry, " the team skillfully integrated current TikTok shopping trends and cross-industry collaboration concepts to propose forward-looking solutions. This demonstrated our students' professional ability to keep pace with the times and integrate innovation, as well as their broad vision.
Returning with Honors, Embarking on a New Journey! This high-level event, gathering outstanding young talents from around the world, was not only an arena for the contest of business wisdom but also a valuable bridge for intellectual exchange and mutual learning among civilizations for students from various countries. May the students of NPU transform the rich gains from this competition into strong momentum for their growth. On the broader world stage, may they continue to showcase their unique talents and bravely shoulder the mission of our times!
